Kenya’s top problems are attributed to bad governance. We have witnessed poor service delivery, misappropriation of public funds and corruption in the public offices especially by the politicians and top management. This has created social classes due to big economic gaps between the rich and the poor. The rich are becoming richer while the poor continue to be poorer.
This is alarming because most of our population in Kenya are young people . Many of them are ignorant and lack basic information on governance. The youths today have a lot of energy but have continued being more hopeless. Addiction and substance abuse, depression and other mental health issues have crept and it’s costing the nation and the world.
Youths are the future of the world. They are sources of innovation ,ideas and skills which are to shape our future. This makes them important figures in the liberation of our country. Enhancing their knowledge and skills in public participation and governance is therefore a normal task . This will enable them to actively take part in governance, decision making and policy designing which will affect not only the administration but all the pillars of the society. This surely brings sustainability and a more developed and better society.
